What has made the events successful and popular with those who have attended?

The events focus on current topics that are unique and have a high level of interest. The presenters have consistently been rated as excellent by more than 90% of the participants. The events are designed to have as much participant participation as possible. Focus Groups made up of students, parents, educators and community leaders in combination with ALL STAR PANELS have been a successful and a well- received component of the events.

What have been some unexpected outcomes from organizing these events?

Since the events have been attracting participants from a wide geographic area (the event: The Impact of Social Media on Children, had districts/organizations from 20 counties in western Pennsylvania with 50 school districts represented) it has created an environment of interactions with a wide range of suggestions and ideas from and for those who have participated. It also has provided the opportunity for those supporting the event to share how they are able to contribute to making students and staff more successful. This has been made possible because the cost of supporting has been reasonable. A number of supporters have expressed appreciation for the opportunity to network and the time to share and be a part of the event (the supporters understand how much time and money it would take to individually visit all of the school districts represented).
